The Blending of Families

by Garrison   Sep 4, 2007

When divorce hits a family
It shakes children's faith
You take the security they once had
And turn them on its head

They struggle to make sense
In the wake of disaster
And their hearts are like glass
So fragile and reflective

But as time goes on
The single parent makes their way
To a new life and identity
They begin once again

It's rare that you find
A new mate in this world
Having children themselves
And commitments like yours

What joy fills the heart
When you find this new soul
Whose children melt with yours
With new smiles along

It gives you the hope
That the blending of families
Are not only possible
But true blessings as well
