His Eyes.

by Kyle Sacha   Sep 5, 2007

His eyes.

they used to be sparkling
alive, so brand new
ready to learn and discover life
he used to smile
then he met you

everything was perfect between you two
two months of perfection
romance made life so true
but then it all crumbled
when he said "i love you"

your heart sank at the sound
the first moment he muttered the 'horrible three'
knowing it wasn't true
[because, really, who really knows what love is]
you thought he was crazy
but faked a smile and a kiss
how can anyone love you

your over thinking took flight
and the pain in your heart grew
trying harder every time
to not fake a smile when he said "i love you"

days grew longer
your like grew stronger
forming into true love
a feeling never felt before
you fell so hard
even though you tried to fight it

you did everything you could for him
housing, money, love, comfort
but he wasn't the person you knew before
he had changed
something happened

his family [already split in two]
made worse, but he couldn't tell you by who
eating at him daily
you made it known that you were there no matter what
opening up and telling him your deepest feelings

sadly, it pushed him farther away
not being the person to open up
but to push people away who care the most
seeing him hurt killed you more and more
hearing him cry made you die more painfully slower

he became broken
shattered
and you didn't know what to do
wanting to fix him
but no way to know

he held it all inside
letting anger and pain stew
driving him crazy
but then he took it out on you

taking the poison knife
he took everything back
took the "i love you's
like killing you in cold blood

light turned dim
the sun grew cold in your heart
death was the only option for you
no other way out
desperate for an escape route
willing to try anything to suffice the heartbreak

his eyes now dull
no smiles nor laughter
no friends
he pushed them all away and locked them all out
you wish everyday you could have his old self back
but you tell yourself that boy he once was
is now
gone.
