A two night struggle

by Allison   Sep 5, 2007

Losing never cost as much

As it did last night

When true love ended

And the world turned to fright

An overwhelming feeling

Of needing release

Takes a blade to her thigh

To tame the wretched beast

It dwells inside of her

No one is to know

Painful memories within

Scars she will never show

A razor to her wrist

Blood pours down the drain

She looks into the mirror

Glaring with distain

This isn't who she wanted to be

Always losing the fight

She can't go on much longer

It must end tonight

She can't take it anymore

The tears begin to flow

Chasing drops of blood

On the floor below

Another night another battle

Which means another loss

Never has relief

Had such a high cost

She digs in even deeper

Knowing it could end

But it doesn't even matter

With the blade, her friend

It soothes an aching heart

And chases away fears

Blood will take the place

Of all the silent tears

Tonight she'll write a story

The story of her life

Blood will be her ink

Her pen will be the knife

You'll get to read a story

Of broken hearted sorrow

It will be to late to fix it

When you wake tomorrow

Tonight is her last of losing

Last night with the blade as her friend

She chose to end her life tonight

Because she knew she couldn't win.
