Drowning

by alone in the crowd   Sep 5, 2007

The man sat down and put his head in his hands,
tears streamed down his cheeks
puddles collected beneath his eyes,
threatening to overflow
blood pulsating within his brow
What had he done?
the one thing he had truly cared for,
gone
wiped away like a problem on a chalkboard
once understood there is no longer a need for it
but mabe he hadn't understood everything about her
maybe there was still some mystery behind her clear pools
those eys that called to the needy like a water bed
begging you to indulge yourself
to dive deep and drown within their warmth
maybe there was yet still a deeper end to her
