Take Me Or Leave Me

by Beautiful Chaos   Sep 6, 2007

What you see is what you get
I stand here in my glory
The cover doesn't really speak
Of what's inside my story

My beauty's but a thin disguise
For the soul which lives inside
And you will never see the truth
If you've never really tried

I've cried tears and had some laughs
Felt like I'm alone
Dreamed of something more in life
Searched out the unknown

I paint, I write, I've hurt myself
I've lashed out, out of spite
I've done some good and then some bad
I've tried to make it right

I'm full of flaws, just like the world
But beauty still lives on,
Beneath the surface, to the core
It's never really gone

You may not like what you see
But this is who I am
I won't pretend to be another
I cannot live a sham

Leave me now if you must
I won't beg you to stay
Someone else will see my spark
And fire shall give way

Wow, very powerful and deep. I can relate to some parts of it. I like the rhymes in the whole piece, and the flow is excellent.
    My favorite stanza is:

-My beauty's but a thin disguise
For the soul which lives inside
And you will never see the truth
    If you've never really tried-

    Well done, 5/5 from me

I really enjoyed reading this one. It's something a lot of people can relate to and I think it's well written. This of course is just my personal opinion.
