A Broken Heart That The World Forgot

by Jenni Marie   Sep 6, 2007

Lying alone in her room, salty tears pouring down her face
All elegance has been lost, she's falling from grace
Doesn't trust anyone or anything, nowhere to go
Misery overwhelming, wondering how she became so low

Left all on her own, friends have all disappeared
Being alone like this, was what she always feared
Melancholy gripping her, so tightly in his grasp
Recalling when she thought, happiness would last

Her trust in others, all but diminished
Her life as she knew it, all but finished
Friends have no idea, to how she really feels
Pain is so intense, not sure if she can deal

In public she'll laugh and smile, leaving absolutely no clue
That all her days are miserable, that she feels so lost and blue
Seeming to be content, but nothing is as it seems
Outwards she appears happy, inside she's full of broken dreams
She doesn't know what to do, tears falling so salty and hot
She's just another broken heart, that the world forgot

^That ending really made the whole poem beutiful to me. There's so many deep emotions flowing around in this poem and I could feel them while reading on. A breath taking piece.
