Love and Friendship

by Aaron Deevers   Sep 7, 2007

Today I met this girl
She was young and beautiful
Yet my eyes did not see that
What they saw was a smart and talented girl

As we spoke to one another
We learn more about each other
Learning are likes and dislikes
What movies were good and bad

We spoke for so long
It seemed we knew each other always
So much we had in common
Our hearts beating for one another

Years past as we spoke each day at noon
Always at that time cause of work
Even though we never spoke of dating
I had to ask her a question

One day on a cloudy and raining afternoon
I saw her waiting for me
As I smiled I walked up to her
Holding a box with a special ring inside

As I sat we spoke about our day
Spoke till almost one o'clock
As she was getting ready to leave
I told her to wait

I got down on one knee
She asked why I was on my knees
As I removed the box from behind me
She knew right away
I got one word out when she said yes

To this day we are together
We still talk at noon
Always speaking of our days
Even though we are now one
We will always be friends
