Little Baby Girl

In a clean white room in the middle of the night
A little baby girl sees her very first sights
Ten toes and fingers and eyes of blue
The nurse smiles and says "she looks like you"
I hold her tight and kiss her soft face
If only forever she could stay in my embrace
Such a bittersweet situation, I can't believe I'm in it
How can you love someone so much you've only known for ten minutes?
But before I know it, they reach down to take her
I can't believe I'm about to forsake her
She closes her little eyes, everything about her is so small
When they take her away, she doesn't cry at all
I open my mouth but I can't find the right words to say
I feel my heart break as they carry her away
They close the door and I'm left all alone
My little baby girl is off to a new home
A mass of tears build up in my eyes
I'll never again have to say a harder goodbye
I try to be strong, afterall I did this to save her
But I can't help but wonder, what will they name her?
I wonder if she'll grow up in a loving family
But most of all I wonder, will she know about me?
To my questions I'll never know the answers to
But I feel good knowing I did for her the best I could do
Of course I feel sad and of course I'll miss her
But for a moment I was her mommy, and at least I got to kiss her
So goodbye my beautiful little baby girl
Goodbye blue eyes and golden curls
I hope life is kind to you, but if you ever feel alone in the world
I just want you to know that you'll always be someone's little baby girl

    I think that your poem really expresses allot of emotion. It is a very sad subject to write about although I think that you have written this beatifully. You have capture the beauty of a newborn as well as the womens emotions. And she always will be somebodys baby girl, even if she doesn't know it.
