STOP IT

by Spirit   Sep 7, 2007

Stop it, stop it I say,
why do you two still fight?
What's happened to eternal love
or did that also slip your sight

It's your fault I act like this
always alone and scared
and now that my little brother's born
Parenthood? I'm not prepared.

What? Don't you understand?
That every time you yell
I grab him and run out the door
our life's a living hell.

I'd runaway, but I can't leave him
alone with all your lies
Still I can not take him
So I'll hold him while he cries.

This isn't my job, I'm too young for this
What happened to my dreams
now my life's falling apart,
I'm tearing at my seams.

At night while he sleeps in my room,
and you both have settled down
I sit down in the shower
the water pounds me in the ground.

I cry, and I cry
wishing life was better.
Still I'm sitting by my self,
in this shower, getting wetter.

If only life was simple
If only you two wouldn't fight
If only you both knew,
What I go through every night.

This is very good. parents don't think that we suffer because of them. but while we suffer the younger ones have it worse, and their goes our childhood while we try to give them theirs.

Is this told from both sides? I wonder, I'm terrible at interpreting, but i think it is a parent and siblings but i could be wrong, either way it was interesting looking from a parents perspective.

Very good poem the flow and structure was pretty good. The rhyme was descent but I felt at some times you might have been forcing the rhymes. The overall poem was good though. Good job.

This was so heartbreaking to read..and yet so wonderfully written at the same time.

The emotion and depth you put into this piece were lovely, overwhelming but without being overbearing, and so easily felt by the reader.

So many people will be able to relate to this piece, and that's what makes a wonderful poem.
