The Flames of Revolution

by Independence Forever   Sep 7, 2007

I love my country, tis dear to me
I'll reveal it's wrongs for all to see

this fight will not be on some far off land
on distant mountains, or on enemy sand

this fight will take place on our front porches
we will fight in the streets, gather the torches

overthrow the government, freedom for all
tear down the pillars, break down the wall

our homes, and our families, fight for them first
for freedom, safety, and rights should we thirst

blood, carnage, sorrow, freedom is not free
by the flames of revolution can we only see

"in every thing one must consider the end"
John Adams

I really enjoyed this poem. It reminds me of one I wrote before...Then I was sent an email and a very rude comment about how mine was insulting....and so it was deleted...No worries yours doesn't insult me nor does it contain the things I spoke of. I'll give it a five. The flow was lovely and the message was true.
