The Peices Of My Heart

by Katy Nicholson   Sep 7, 2007

Putting the peices back together;
Something I cannot do.
When my heart has been tainted with poison.
And what I had is no longer true.

I could tell by the way you look at me.
That my life is nearly done.
The way you said it, hit me hard.
I could never be the one.

Now I know my broken heart.
Will never be the same.
So now, as my darkened life continues.
I cry the tears of acid rain.

I will cry until my soul lets go.
Of living on this earth.
Because I know my love for you.
Won't be as special as its worth.

Maybe someday, I'll figure this out.
And I won't be so confused.
I could try to fix things up.
So I won't look twisted and used.

Maybe someday, I will see the light.
Maybe I'll find myself.
I'll think of what I was told long ago-
Follow your heart and nothing else.
