Chasing the Stars

by Melissa Dee   Sep 8, 2007

I want to jump towards the sky without falling on my face...
I'll try for the moon, take my time, it's not a race...
I know what they say, I'll still land among the stars...
But I won't, I'll fall down, cover up all my scars...
I guess the sky's just to big, to much I can't handle...
So I sit here alone, shadows cast from my candle...
I gaze at the flame, my mind deep in thought...
sudden sounds, snapping out, but my eyes are still caught...
Through the trees, comes the wind, its heading my way...
My last match just went out, should I go, should I stay?
Just me and the darkness, and then a few stars...
Sometime I wish we could change who we are...
Design the perfect person, that I want to be...
Tear down these fences, and tell me I'm free...
I know that this dream won't get me far...
At least I know where I am, I'm chasing the stars...
