Oh Ashley

by Soulful Ensemble   Sep 8, 2007

Oh Ashley, just disappear! I don't need you near!
You know I'm done with you and I see that's clear.
Your eyes are blue, yes its true,
Mine are red because of you.
I'm sick that you don't cry,
I'm sick that you lie around; eyes closed,
But open when its nice to be exposed.

You're a fraud, I see that now:
Your paintings are stolen,
You live next to your plow;
Watching the rain go down
And cutting down the grass that reveals that you're a clown.

When will you ever drown?
You're carefull and relaxed
When breaking my heart's tracks;
You have to fall, I know,
Even trains collapse.

What a day I had,
I came home just to be with you and all you do is laugh.
That you don't see my eyes is killing me inside.
Oh, Ashley, I don't want to look back to see you lied
I'd like to think you tried
To love me just a bit, while juggling your wit.

You only care about your hits
Even you must admit
That our love was once legit,
And now its something we must quit.

Oh Ashley, "lets take a break", you said, "its neat",
Well, I'm still waiting here patiently for defeat.
You can't just disappear while I eat,
Leaving me here to cheat.

You were once human, with emotions and frowns,
Now you're very busy, like Antoinette and her crown.
Getting your head chopped down,
Getting blood all on your wedding gown.

We dated for a year it seemed,
It should have been longer, or so I dreamed;
But at the thought of that idea you screamed
Leaving empty spaces undreamed.

Oh Ashley, what an ending to a happy story,
You crafted such a sadness: unecessary and unreal.
Even if you said you're sorry,
I wouldn't feel healed or near your ideal.
I'd see through your invisible emotions that are sealed
Deep down, inside your bottles, and never coming near.

Oh Ashley, maybe you are bottomless,
But I am fearless when I fall; stressless.
I still remember your address
And I know if its real-- your intention-- when you wear your dress.

How many times did you feed me from your hand?
I don't know, I forgot, I guess you had that planned.
