War

by Tom Martin   Sep 9, 2007

Intangible inconsistancies
A requiem of hearts untold
An absense of light skies
The abscesses of humanity unfold
Pull back the skin if you are bold
Drain life until the body is cold
Let death take Her hold

A decadent dance of sensual desires
Grim and placated, yet excited
Metal hawks fly over to spread their fires
These once-friends now united
Their love now gone unrequited
Both agressive with feelings slighted

Twirls of silk and lace
These once-intimate dancers
Coming ever closer, fall into place
Spreading pheremones of cancers
Darting around like lead-made answers
Until the strike of the first lancers

Such an ill-affectionate gathering
Masses of men and machine
Waiting for the first fettering
The breaking of the unseen
Never ceasing
Ever cleansing
Forever courting
