Liquid Life

by Tom Martin   Sep 9, 2007

My heart
Her blood
They pulse
As one

Taking a drink from her
Her blood
Fills me more completely
Than anything else

Feeding from him
His flesh
Rejuvinates me more
Than anything else

Her life
My soul
Liquid life
Vapored death

As I watch her fall
Into Darkness
I can feel it inside
Me too

As she wilts away
I give my life
To save hers
To keep her preserved

Too bad
Love
Doesn't work
That way

We can take some
Give some
But life is liquid
We cannot hold it
Forever
It will eventually
Expand into vapor
And escape our
Desperate grip
Leaving us
Forever empty
Without hope
