Forever Damned

by Tom Martin   Sep 9, 2007

Spiraling kaleidescope of emotions
Churning twirl of a meat grinder
Flames boiling real men's blood
Needles replacing veins
Pollution becoming breath of life

Liquid shades like marionettes
Just beyond the reach of sight
Whispering ancient war songs
Strings of lies creating movement
Pulling limbs and bodies around

The strings break and
Come down like whips
Forcing the shades closer
Letting me see them
For what they really are

Naked and frail in the dim light
They growl and lash out at me
Low gutteral noise and high screeches
They do not fool me
Their bark is worse than their bite

Just a twist of fate
Twitch of thought
And they're gone
Lost to dreams
And forever damned
