Unity

by Tom Martin   Sep 9, 2007

Inconsistant civilizations breeding incoherent views
This is where I live, where I eat and sleep
Under the meshings of reds whites and blues
It is getting to me, pulling me down into the deep
As much as I dislike the idiocracy that runs this place
I cannot help but call this chained land of the free
The place of my birth and home, even without it's grace
Things are only as bad as you have let them be
Without common sense and an inkling of individuality
You have this sort of ignorant bliss and obliviousness
That keeps you from seeing the now and gives you reality
Twisted, tattered, and all in your consciousness
Clean and reformed, a paradise of grandeur in my mind
However you look at this life and world, you are you
And I am I, there is no changing this unless we find
Commonality among the minority and forcing ourselves to do

Whatever it takes to make
This world a unity of many
A unity of one
