Splinter In My Heart

by kayeah   Sep 9, 2007

The day seems shorter when the rain pours down so hard,
Just like the splinter that never stops inside my heart.

I miss the feeling of being happy every time you come,
But now it seems that you plus me, is a negative sum.

Repetition of sweet memories isn't easy to find,
And thinking too much is a curse, now that I can predict your mind.

I'm tired of hearing Clichés, while your head is on the clouds,
Seeing that you're feet is on the ground, as in the mists, I shroud...

I'm admitting impediments along the way when I first met you,
Can't you see that this is reality I'm writing, and also true...?

And breathless, I can't breathe fine without pills to temporarily mend,
If ever this was the last, I still won't say this is where forever ends.

And tonight, the rifts are drifting into the sea of an endless night,
And there's only one thing that can guide them, your light…

Because right now, a love's waiting over the brink,
Wishing it's never too late for you to start to think...
