Silent Cry

by Grace Hikaru Yu   Sep 9, 2007

The sound of a heart breaking,
you realize it's your own.
Like glass shattering,
a king dethroned.

The universe doesn't revolve around you,
so don't be arrogant.
With the palm of my hand,
I'm sure you'll understand.

Broken heart,
broken soul,
It wasn't anything,
that I could control.

Ignorance is bliss,
and it is true,
because I don't want to know,
when I'll see through you.

Moving to New York,
moving to Times Square,
you'll see prettier lights,
than I can ever spare.

You'll meet better girls,
better women,
don't come back,
don't batter my heart again.

I say this goodbye,
for one last time,
I'm drying my tears,
silencing my whines.
