There is a place way up in the sky,
That's where people go to when they die.
I will go there too when I am old and grey,
Although I don't want to go there now, I don't fear that day.
I would have to say goodbye to everybody I know,
But that will be in my life's afterglow.
I will see people, who passed away before me,
I could jam with Jimmy Hendrix and sing with Elvis Presley.
Off course I want to see my baby girl grow
And what will come after that I don't know.
When I die I will loose many things,
But I also will get my set of wings.
Earthly possessions don't matter anymore,
I know what they meant to me before.
And when I am up there I will finally see,
My family that have passed away long before me.
Knowing the time I'll spend with them will be eternally,
Lightens my heart with joy, finally.
And my troubles belong to the past,
Now that I have found my inner rest.
I just have one more thing to do,
And that is to wait for you.

Having you near and feeling your soft warm kiss.
If I am in heaven, I will let you know,
I'll give you a sign, I'd write your name across the rainbow.
Now I am in heaven, I have no reason to cry,
But please be old enough to die.
Some people I see around here are much too young,
They've lost their life before it really had begun.
I see my old friends from a long ago, white and black,
Some died in accidents, some of a heart attack.
We have so many things to talk about,
Yeah, we laugh scream and shout.
We will annoy Saint Peter at heavens gate,
And newcomers, we will tell them they're late.
And now my mind is completely filled,
how will that fly react that i just killed.
But even though living a life is tough,
Try to enjoy it; you can be dead long enough.
