Scarred

by JaM   Sep 9, 2007

She lay still on the concrete,
listening to whispers of the wind.
Silence surrounds her body,
while the terror fills her within.

Bleeding from the cuffs,
that chain her to her fears.
Suddenly overwhelmed with fright,
pouring down her face are tears.

No escape from this nightmare,
damned to this solitude.
Lost without hope,
in a life so crude.

She will never feel warmth,
touch her scarred skin,
She will never feel happiness,
to her heart within.
