Tomorrow's Mystery

by *Charisma*   Sep 10, 2007

There's nothing here to do
And I can't go outside.
The rain is pouring down
Like all the tears I cried.

I'm trapped within this house
Memories closing in.
The pain is rushing back
And trickles down my chin.

Why must it hurt this way?
I wish the months would pass
But they only go slower
As if to make it last.

Each second I wonder
About what could have been
If we had known of this
And done it all again.

Of course, you'd be here
You never would have left.
I wouldn't have to remind
Myself to take each breath.

I miss your face always
Every minute, every day.
And nothing that is said
Makes the hurt go away.

But the future's unknown
Neither of us could see
That by tomorrow's light
You wouldn't be with me.

My only complaint is the lines:

"If we had known of this
    And done it all again."

It just feels a little off to me when I am reading, like it should be arranged a little differently. Other than that I thought you did a good job, I could feel the loneliness and the "what if" of it all. Nice work. Thanks so much for entering the contest.

I really liked this. Your flow is always so flawless. I love it. I can really relate to this and I can feel your pain. I like when I can relate to what I am reading it gives me a special connection not only to the writer but to the peice. Great job!
