Love you as you strive (partner view of an eating disorder)

by Jay   Sep 10, 2007

And i watch you, sitting, fading away,
getting thinner and thinner day by day.

punishing yourself for not being the best,
you never stop, you never rest.

you are striving to be perfection,
but i see it everyday in your reflection.

and i understand why you need to be,
the skinniest girl that you can ever see.

i wish you could see your eyes of love,
as gentle as an angel in heaven above.

i wish you could see your soul as i do,
pure and harmless through and through.

one day you will see yourself like i can,
beauty and grace from the day your life began.

And until you can feel, finally, alive,
i will sit by your bed, and love you as you strive.
