The Painful Death

by Dan   Sep 10, 2007

As she sits in the corner she is paused in the middle
Of feelings that so entangle her
Her father lies dead, with no life, on the floor
She checks again, she must be sure

Tendrils of darkness consume him
Trapping his body in an endless embrace
As his soul wanders on
Lost from his mind

She sits and she watches with fear and sadness
She weeps as his heart passes on
She opens her mouth, to the heavens above
But no words avail her now

She is lost as she sits
Finding no comfort
And the world still swerves round
Not even caring

The girl sits alone
She holds herself tight
There is nobody there for her
She is lonesome tonight

And the twilight consumes her
As she sits there for years
For the rest of her life
She sits in her fears

And so she passes also
The the sky above her head
Into the sun, into the stars
The sorrow, her only friend
