Can't Control

by NonsensicallyNeurotic   Sep 10, 2007

I can't listen to the radio
Without thinking of him
He was my life, my everything
But he was naive, acting on whim

I wonder if his new girlfriend
Knows how serious we were
Is he in 'love' with her as well
I can imagine him serenading her

We chatted on the phone
Every insignificant night
For three short weeks I thought I knew,
Our love had felt so right

His voice, his smile, his heart
Perfectly imperfect in every way
I loved it then, and still love him now
Of which I'm not proud to say

You'd think I'd have learned my lesson
Loving him is not exactly smart
I know that he simply doesn't care
But I can't control my heart
