Beautiful written yet flow within beautiful expressed emotions. "Any person needs at least four such friends; Every person owes it to himself to be such a friend to at least four fellow humans." Well done!

A truly poignant piece Ben, very touching, about a friend who you love like you love your family, possibly more. I really loved this line
"Sitting in desolation and solitude a lonely tear escapes my eye."

    Great words.

    Ben
What a wonderful piece you have penned.

Distances have grown longer, time and years pass hurriedly by.
Sitting in desolation and solitude a lonely tear escapes my eye.

I have felt this so many times as you know....I have been blessed with friendship.

That's so beautiful. That was truly awesome, I don't know if I have the sniffles because I'm a bit sick, or because of the poem. :P Anywho, that was incredibly enjoyable, and I just wish to say that you wrote an awesomely poetic piece.

    Thank you for that insight.

Wow.. such a beautiful poem .. there is true beauty in each and every line you have written here - very deep and emotional and really touching!

This poem has a really mature feeling to it which makes it really interesting to read. A lot of people can relate to this I think because everyone at one point or another in their life loses a friend - maybe not to death or anything that serious, but maybe a friendship just faded - - it's happened to me many times.

I think this poem is more for the Lord taking a friend away but I think it can go either way which makes the poem more beautiful. The way you wrote the poem gives it a sort of happy feeling - even though it is about something sad. I like how you focused on the positive things about your friendship and not the fact that it is over.

In this new age of darkness a true friend is greater than gold.
My loyal companion when the Lord made you he broke the mold.

^^ I couldn't agree more with those lines. A true friend in this world is more valuable than any amount of money. Without friends and love - you have nothing.

Amazing job. Brilliantly written. Thanks for writing this poem! Keep it up! 5/5 =)
