Blood Ties

by Twisted Heart   Sep 11, 2007

Among the shadows of the night
Against the shades of faded gray
Upon the cobbles of the street
The changeling searched his prey.

His nose was tipped for virgin scent
Such wicked dreams he stored inside
When there upon the corner's bend
He spied his virgin bride.

With wings of flames he made his swoop
And caught her fast and unaware
He gripped her to his breast and flew
High in the sky without a care.

To darkened pitch among the tombs
He sat her there upon the grave
He tipped his teeth against her neck
To taste the crimson wine he craved.

Just a sip to quench his thirst
As demons rose from rot's decay
The sound of hissing laughter heard
Among the statues made of clay.

Tuned now to see the kindred breath
That seared inside his virgin bride
The change he saw beginning now
Red lips, dark hair and skin pure white.

She rose from sleep so different now
As fire flashed bright inside her eyes
A beauty love he longed for her
Though from her breath a demon cry

With wings of flame she took to flight
Among the cobbles of the street
To purge her thirst for crimson wine
A search to sate her wanton need.
