Heart Beat

I once walked to the beat of my heart
When my heart was beating
But now I walk behind my shadow
For my heart is torn and broken
And has yet healed
No longer can I feel what I once had
Or walk to anything beating within me
How I wish time would pass
So my heart would heal
And I would no longer have to wear my mask
And walk like I once did
