She Talks to Rainbows

by dollwithafrown   Sep 11, 2007

The rain, like glitter, it sparkles the ground,
As the world is void of motion or sound.
The roads are naked, trees are bare;
No single soul to even care.

When she looks up, the sky is bright,
Yet there's no stars; it is not night.
No one to run to - a sister? A mother?
It's that shining arc which offers the colour.

An illusory hope, it gives her back life.
She can rip up the heartache, stomp on the strife.
She begins to do something she's not done in a while:
Looks up at the rainbow and starts to smile.

    I love this, reminded me of a child. Everything she has lost hope in is fading, but the rainbow of color is still so bright, aah, love it.

    I really like the image you put in my head at the beginning. I also like how you ended it, with hope, that is what it felt like to me anyway. Thanks so much for entering the contest, you did a good job.
