Six years ago,
We watched the world start to fall,
It started it all with,
An airplane going through.
We never saw it coming,
And it hit us with shock,
Stared with disbelief,
Too young to understand.
Hot tears started to roll,
Down the teachers face,
We were too young to understand,
So she had to explain it all.
So soon when we truly began to understand,
She whispers `Oh No`,
Another plane hitting the south tower,
Plays its game with death.
Black ashes fall like rain drops,
As the count down begins,
The count down to where,
Death has accomplished its deed.
You can hear screams like a siren,
As the north Tower falls like dominoes,
One by one the floor begins to cave,
Leaving the world with a scar in their heart,
And a memory in their mind to play.
Grandparents, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters,
Nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters,
Aunts and uncles, cousins and friends and pets,
Had all lost someone close.
Their bodies may be found,
But the spirit still remains,
In the world of another day at work,
Where they thought nothing could go wrong.
Another day of where they thought they could say 'I love you' to their loved one,
if they forgot to say it before they left,
Another day of where their favorite T.V show would be on,
Another day of where they would play with their kids in the backyard.
Many 'another days' will never become 'another day',
Still living the day of where the world fell,
Never to be seen by their love ones anymore,
They're nothing left but a memory replaying its story still today.
This day really shows that,
All the simple things,
Just may be your last,
That someone has of you.
Some have left with fighting at home,
Some have left with hugs and kisses by their family,
Some have left with a positive attitude,
Nine decided to scar us.
So take the time to remember 9/11,
Say the little things like 'I love you,'
You never may know if,
Today will be your last.
