Longing

by Leon   Sep 12, 2007

The sun melts the sky as it dips into the horizon,
leaving a trail so stunning,
it stupefies us as we try to take it in.

The mellow encore descends and the sky is humbled.
It seems to take a deep breath, sigh goodbye and begin longing for tomorrow.

Your head is on my lap as we watch the sunset unfold,
but I'm miles away,
at one with the sky.

I know how she feels as she prepares to wait for her lovers return.

Sun gives sky warmth,

sun gives sky purpose,

sun gives sky hope.

You are my sun,
and I am your willing sky,
desperate for sunrise each sunset.

This poem is great. It gave me a vision of that moment. Just be honest I wish that kind of poem could be written for me.

Oh wow. The opening line really grab my attention. It's one of the best 1st line I have ever read. It really painted a picture in my mind, good job.

    Thanks for the comment.

Ahh what a beautiful poem. Seriously. Very cute and your imagenery is amazing! I really love this poem, so romantic also. The way you were descripting everything made it deep, and I felt a bit sad tone to it, lovers that can't be together. Brilliant!
