Imprisoned

If you only knew how much it pains me to write this.
however, i cannot keep it locked up within me anymore.
i've done things that displeased you,
but i did them because for the first time i wanted to be free,
to feel free.
you have this unseen leash around my neck.
you will never remove it.
it pains me to do so many things behind your back,
but there is no other alternative.
you gave me life,
but i cannot enjoy it.
i will leave you soon,
but i fear that when i return you will have your leash ready.
let me feel alive, please!
i cry these pathetic tears in hope that one day you will realize how the life of a caged bird does not,
and will never,
suit me!
let me free!
let me live!
