Will i be Like Josh?

by Independence Forever   Sep 13, 2007

When Josh died everyone cried
will i be the same, or be denied

basketballs, memorials, everything they could do
but what about David? do i mean anything to you?

when i die will i get such honors bestowed?
when i die will my great exploits be retold?

when Josh died there was all sorts of deifying things
even a remember Josh t-shirt, me thinking of it stings

will i be honored when i die is the same old story
of course I'll be dead, so why should i even worry

i have no reservations on making good ladies cry
it killed me when they did after Josh said goodbye

but still what about me? am i being too selfish?
did i do good in life, or do i just sit and embellish?

Josh was a good friend and i have nothing against him
but if i died, if i were killed, would it be the same, grim?

Josh miller was a great guy, he died in a car crash a few years back. he had no thoughts of remembrance upon his death, but they came anyway. unjustly they came

Dont compare yourself to Josh. But we all wonder how we will be remembered. I know you will be remembered greatly.

Although this was a sad poem it also sounded like there was a little bit of anger/jealousy...which is totally ok, it made it that much better...I loved how you were able to compare yourself and Josh...very nice write!

People write poems sometimes because they feel like it, other have a deeper reason for it. whatever ur reason may be, this is something that i've recently thought of. no one that i knew died but i've always wondered who cares when you go, or who actually meant "that was a good kid". but you'd never kno ... cuz ur dead n all. but i lik this a lot. even tho i gave u a 4 i still like it. =)
