Yin and Yang

by zizlo   Sep 13, 2007

The rain burned until her flesh eroded ruthlessly
Cruelly and heartlessly as she cried for mercy
An empty heart with emptiness to fill it in
A wingless bird attempting to race the wind

She's got a guardian angel but he's without wings
She needs protection from these heart-breaking things
Lying in bed with a new-born crescent for a friend
Recalling a past that into the future extends

Forlorn and moping- her tears are in control
Cleansing her mind, her broken heart and her soul
Alone of all she hides behind an image of perfection
Accused by her angel of granting this misconception

Running away from the pain that keeps her awake
Unable to face it- there is too much at stake
If she listens to her angel and wings she would try to regrow
She was not willing to allow her flaws to show

Struggling and debating all of this inside
Meanwhile she still could not confide
Her secrets to herself and to her angel-friend
When trust begins it should never have an end

Though between them trust has not even began
Life was giving her a chance to try to understand
Maybe once she understood his fault and his weakness
She would be one step closer to ultimate happiness

Thoughts revolving around and around in her head
Linking solutions as she lay alone in bed
A full moon shining and effortlessly smiling
Down at a girl who knew what it meant to be winglessly flying

During their next encounter she held out her arms
Telling him it's alright- from this there shall be no harm
Walking into them he finally felt secure
Finally- a reason for his protection to be true and pure

Time was given a chance to set to work and to heal
The wounds that come along with the ability to feel
His handicap would no longer hinder
An attempt to try and make him stronger

Thinking, reflecting and learning under the sun's light
Safe, secure and mending deep into the starry night
Days later onto his shoulders artificial wings she was attaching
He fluttered them and finally- he was flying
