Black Roses

by Gabrielle   Sep 13, 2007

*I actually wrote this to be a song, that is why the format is somewhat different.*

My virtue is your demon, so eagerly taken away.
Bloody romance is the story, with black roses tied in shame.
Stop lying, we already know the ending so well.
Just leave behind the reminiscences, remembering always fails.
Pick out the tombstone, it is the only thing binding me here.
Shed tears of I told you so's for the one you held so dear.

Darkness is the one thing that can conceal the brightest of lights.
Locking the door to happiness, leaving you alone...alone to die.
Never mentioned a time when the pain would overcome you.
Sadness built so high it began to leak right through.

When the pedals begin to fall and my memory becomes so faint,
don't feel one ounce of remorse, time will surely make you forget.
Are you seeing our promises slowly become unearthed?
Knowing three words could have saved us, and tables may have turned.
Dreams are made for fairy tales, not those left behind.
So I will give you one more kiss for the final time.

Darkness is the one thing that can conceal the brightest of lights.
Locking the door to happiness, leaving you alone...alone to die.
Never mentioned a time when the pain would overcome you.
Sadness built up so high it began to leak right through.

I hope at one time you believe I love you, even when time's become so piercing. I assume that's pointless now, it never meant a thing. Close your eyes and pray flames are't what consumes me. Love was just a burden that left me bitter and lonely.
