Love's Last Holiday

by dandy   Sep 13, 2007

Once upon a forbidden love
there was a girl and boy,
Whose hearts connected one fine day
to beat in harmony with joy.

A lonely girl with wasted thoughts
of happiness, love, and men.
She tried to ignore the stubborn boys,
but he came along just then.

A handsome one of taller height,
he made her smile with charm.
And in time the boy did hold her
with strong and loving arms.

But her parents did not approve
of the courtship they displayed.
Forced to part, the tears rolled down,
in a grip of sadness she stayed.

At last they were allowed to meet,
but only for a time.
Because she felt that in the hour,
his trust had lost its rhyme.

She longed for him to commit to her,
but confidence, it seemed, was lost.
She'd waited patiently for while
but wasn't sure if it was worth the cost.

Another separation occurred,
though her love still has not swayed.
If the trust cannot be found again
then it is love's last holiday.
