Lies Told To Willing Ears.

by SmileeItsBritt   Sep 13, 2007

Clouds would fall from the sky
If you could only keep my feet on the ground,
You could be the anchor that holds me
But I know you have a hard time sticking around.
I've been calling out these memories for days
But you can't seem to hear them; you just don't have the strength.
I'm sorry but the truth came a little too late.

It seems you've dried my soul of trust,
There's nothing left here for you to see,
One thing I've learned amongst this mess,
Honesty just doesn't come for free.

In reality you never meant a word you said,
And your sympathy was overplayed,
But my heart sank to the oceans depths
As I watched you walk away.
