Beasts of Burden

by Li   Sep 14, 2007

Hats off! They say
Forever galant as they may seem
The joy, the pleasures they may redeem
but still, we leave them in that way

That way? you ask
take off that silly mask
that face of a poor man
i answered after this i ran

i ran uphill then down and up again
up there i found a blade so slen(der)
the sword of the rich they said it was
its goal is to redeem all of us

from the monsters that be
beasts so feirce called poverty and scarcity
and with the blade i took to town
i broke no sweat and neither slowed down

i cut and slashed to no avail
aint worth no praise, and worth no hail
im left sulking in the monsters trail
to this day the beasts prevail
