He Watches Over Me

A tangle of uncertainties
Now breathes upon my heart
The shatter of a broken soul
Tears clean and falls apart

Inside my room I stand alone
Then fall down to my knees
And pray that his divining love
Will come to rescue me

Against the night I see the stars
The moon that he has made
Reflects inside my humble heart
To guide me on my way

A spirit lifts my soul in need
Such comfort it now lends
Against the pain of loneliness
That seers so deep within.

A peace has stayed all my doubt
My fears have found release
A simple prayer for the faith
And hope in my beliefs.

Inside the night I give him thanks
To tend me while I sleep

As he watches over me.
