Holding On to Wasted Love

by *Charisma*   Sep 14, 2007

Out of the corner of your eye you're watching her
While telling me your love overflows.
When are you going to stop the lies and games
I know where your away time goes.

You haven't gone quite that far and probably won't
But the stares that don't come my way
Are enough proof that your heart isn't true to me
When will words match actions you display?

Wish you'd tell me to my face why you've given up
But you still say that I'm just overreacting
If only the evidence would back you up
But for you a pretty face is too distracting

I lost my touch and the love we once shared.
I used to cry, but what's the point in the tears?
Impossible to help the fact you only care enough
To try and hide the truth in all these wasted years.

Wow! This was extremely powerful! I LOVE the phrase "I've lost my touch" . I don't know why it struck me so hard or why it stood out so much but it was an excellent piece, Charisma! :) And I love the feel of helplessness. Cause no matter how badly this woman wants their love to still be alive, she can't do anything without his cooperation. Amazing job...5/5 as always! :)

Your poems make me so frustrated at boys lol. They`re so oblivious, I say: we go on a mission to find a good one. Ha, wonder how long that would take, eh? LOL. Great poem Darling, really.
