Long Ago

by Lost and Alone   Sep 14, 2007

Long ago there was a girl
her hair was red, with natural curl
she was sweet and innocent
until her will and heart were bent
she died when she was six years old
unto herself she'd twist and fold
and try to find a better way
waiting for a better day
The longer her body stayed to live
The more distance her heart would give
the little black soul of hers did cry
Over such an ugly guy
he hurt her repeatedly
the way a guy should never be
and as she grew she learned to hate
her body was like a garden gate
open to those willing to push the door
she had no esteem where there once was more
she felt like nothing, she hated herself
and now she's dead just like everyone else
she walks through her school, runs through the lines
says hello to all the guys
but never will she really learn
it's OK to feel burned
it doesn't make you any less
heck maybe you are the best
but she just hides, death in her eyes
looking at the people, she's filled with despise
