Midwintertears

Midwintertears

It was a cold winter, so cold even snowflakes shivered...
.
..
...
Laying frozen on the cold ground,
Killed by the sorrow so profound
I never knew that I could bring -
I knew her tears and did nothing.

Feeble and frail, feeling so lost,
Used to laugh, now choking with frost;
But her heart shall nevermore sing -
I knew her tears and did nothing.

Ignorant of her existence,
I've let her fall in decadence,
But now her eyes will never sting -
I knew her tears and did nothing.

First time I've committed a sin;
I've carelessly pushed her within
The embrace of Death's single wing -
I knew her tears and did nothing.
...
..
.
It was cold, so cold my heart had froze along with hers...

    The ryhme is incredible! It didn't seem forced at all, which I found is quite hard to do with AABB.
    I'm impressed.
