Softly In My Dreams.

by Steven Beesley   Sep 15, 2007

Do you know the pains of loving
someone you can't be with?
But in your heart you wish them always
every happiness and joy that life can bring.

To be so in love, so much
longing every single day,
for every waking minute
and with every breath that I take.

Unrequited love is a choice that
I have made, for I will love no
other so deeply and unconditionally
without bounds, without yielding up to pain.

My melancholy dreams of
a life so very far away,
misty visions, cool blowing winds and
echoes of your sweet voice come drifting to me.

When all is said and done,
you go your way,
my heart you would break,
but nothing would change for me.

All I have are dreams to keep,
these dreams I seek,
these dreams so deep,
they will stay with me.

These feelings deep inside,
I have nothing to hide,
please stay by my side,
come softly to me.

Tomorrow with it's sunrise will make
no change to my hopes and my dreams,
even should death come knocking;
my feelings for you would always remain.

The blood of a poets broken heart shows up well on the white page with words that show the cracks and depths of that wounded heart. Keep up the good works.

    Steve
I have already had the pleasure of reading this beautiful piece.

Tomorrow with it's sunrise will make
no change to my hopes and my dreams,
    even should death come knocking;
my feelings for you would always remain.

These words touched my soul. The feelings do remain my dear friend. You have just put the biggest smile on my face....Thank you
    Love to you Cindy
