Killing Light

by Brad Champagne   Sep 15, 2007

I see the world through tainted eyes;
Love, illusion, truth, and lies.
The heart's no match for money, pride;
In a shell of false rejoice I hide.

Stuck in this dead-end, useless life,
With naught to show for toil and strife,
As of yet no change to be seen,
In this prison of justice keen.

From time to time the clouds do stray
To show the sun for but a day,
Though only darker is the night
Upon it's killing of the light.
