I Am

I am strong and creative.
I wonder where I will go in my life.
I hear the pencil calling my name.
I see the stars and that's where I'm reaching.
I want to write a poem or two.
I am strong and creative.

I pretend I'm an adult, changing the world.
I feel the words flowing from my head to the paper.
I touch the sky.
I worry I won't make an impact on the world.
I cry over life, and that helps me write.
I am strong and creative.

I understand I can make a difference.
I say anyone can do anything they set their mind to.
I dream about being a poet.
I try not to cry, because I know it doesn't help.
I hope I make an impact on someone's life.
I am strong and creative.
