By the Moonlight

by Ana   Sep 16, 2007

Tonight I wept by the moonlight
For the night air was so cold
And the stars glared so menacingly
At every lie and half-truth told.

Tonight I smiled by the moonlight
Your lips cold from the breeze
I felt the world hold me high
And the cold around me seize.

Tonight I screamed by the moonlight
Your name bitter on my tongue
The memories ring in my ears
As my heart has its feelings wrung

Tonight I kissed by the moonlight
Your fingertips burn at my skin
Noses touching, fingers brushing
A burst of heat rises from within

Tonight I die by the moonlight
For your memory I still hold close
I know that I was the reason for
Losing the one you love most.
