i saw them unexpectedly

i saw you standing there with empty arms

you watched me reply to my friend

she gave me this look

i felt warm arms wrap around me in the cold night
as i looked up
it was you
while the screaming was loud
and the stereos screamed
we stood still and serene

your phone rang
it was time for you to go
thats what i heard then you said no.

you turned off your phone
and got closer to me
after that song you were leaving
the perfect song was on
"we need a little love"
and baby thats what we got

when you had to leave
you leaned in to kiss me
it was dark but of course it missed

we walked
to where your other friends were
holding hands
were we in love
we were pretty sure

i walked to the entrance of the stadium
this is where i stop
if only you could stay
i would miss you alot
still held by warm arms it was completely dark
you still held me tight
you kissed my cold lips
said goodbye and goodnight
two words i wasn't ready to hear

you walked away and left me in tears.
