Then and Now

It was just last March
When it all began

When you thought I hid my heart
Behind the wall of taken

But I didn't

Someone else had my heart
It was recently I got it back

I thought the person that held my heart
Was the one I was meant to be with

But I was wrong

It's not the person who holds your heart
Nor is it the person that unlocks it
But rather
It is the person that only wants to touch it with their own

And that is EXACTLY what you have done

Back then
I'd ask
Are you going to break my heart?

Now
I know you won't

I'd ask
Do you really love me?

Now
I know for sure you do

Things have changed
From then and now

I am no longer naive
And baby I am no longer blind

I've realized that love doesn't only deals with a heart
But the mind and the body as well

Once all three are in sync
For that one special person
You are truly in love

And I
Unlike back then

I am
TRULY in
LOVE with
YOU

    I haven't found my true love yet.. I'm not sure if my former love is really love :( I hope it is..

    Adding a certain form would help the flow, but that is completly your choice. I think the way you write is unique. But nothing like a bit of critique.:)

    I think this would be better read in long stanzas, instead of small fragmets. The story to it was really good. 5/5
