So Many Storms

by Dan Doyle   Sep 17, 2007

A torrent of rain
Pounding the flesh beneath
Turns into a drizzle
As the memory fades

As the soul speaks
The storm recedes
And the darkness within
Cowers in fear

Soon, a biblical-like flood
Except Sorrow, pain
No new beginning
No pity, no hope

Please, no more! no more!
I beg, I plead, I pray!
Allow for me this suffering
To be cast astray

So many storms
So many storms
Oh, so many storms
They will always come this way

This poem came straight out of my heart. I actually wrote it with tears streaming down my face (hence "A torrent of rain, Pounding the flesh beneath")

This is as real as my poetry gets. Everything I wrote was out of pure anguish and pain...

But next time, however, I will go back and edit it. Just to make sure it is accessible and easier to feel the emotion! Thanks for the comments!
