Mama Burton

by Christina Yap   Sep 17, 2007

She slept long and endless
It seemed as if she'd never wake up
But she will
She's strong
God blessed

Pray, pray, pray
And don't you ever stop

I never did

I never met her
But I felt for her
I knew deep down inside
With every inch of my heart
She would survive

She raised a strong
Responsible
Gentleman
And is on the verge of raising two more
Along with a beautiful daughter
And that is the very reason why she will survive
For she is a mother
One whose job isn't completed
Not until she can say without hesitation
I am proud of you

Not only to one
But to all four

I respect her
For taking on such a great task
For the completion of her first
Out of four major accomplishments

The strength
The wisdom
The will
The will to survive
And she has

I never met her
But she
She's the true definition of a mother

God Bless Her.

I'm sure I really get this one, I mean to some aspect I understand... it seems as if there's more to say here. It may just be me. Nonetheless, a good poem.
